Midland University Recognized as Apple Distinguished School Through 2027
Midland University is pleased to announce that it has been named an Apple Distinguished School through the end of the 2026-27 academic year.
Midland was first recognized as an Apple Distinguished School in 2021 and gained re-accreditation for another three-year term this past summer.
Apple Distinguished Schools are centers of innovation, leadership, and educational excellence. They use Apple technology to connect students to the world, fuel creativity, deepen collaboration, and make learning personal. Currently, 46 higher education institutions across the United States carry the title of Apple Distinguished School.
Midland University implemented its 1:1 iPad initiative in 2019. Since then, every student on its undergraduate campus has received an iPad and Apple Pencil as integral tools in their Midland experience.
“We are very proud to continue being recognized as an Apple Distinguished school,” said Jody Horner, Midland University president. “Technology is a very important part of a student’s educational journey, and through our 1:1 iPad Initiative, we have been able to provide students with the tools to be successful in the classroom.”
As an Apple Distinguished School, Midland will continue to have the opportunity to collaborate with a worldwide network of like-minded peers and engage with the Apple Education team. Midland currently has more than 25 full-time faculty members who are Certified Apple instructors.
