A group of Midland University business students recently traveled to the Gallup Campus in Omaha, Nebraska to create, lead, and inspire as part of the Nebraska Fall Leadership Conference hosted by Phi Beta Lambda (PBL) in November.
Students from across the state gathered for the event to enhance their business skills, expand their networks, and learn from local area business professionals. Midland PBL representatives included Mackenzie Bertolas, Whitney Laritson, Lance Nyffeler, Jonathan Quintanilla, Kaitlynn Simon, Baylee Snyder, Anna Watts, and Adviser Rita Bristol (See attached photo).
The event kicked off Thursday, November 1 in Gretna, Nebraska where students met with Johanna Boston, Chief Marketing Officer for the Nebraska Crossing Outlet Mall to discuss the impact digital marketing has on the retail facility.
Alec Gorynski, Vice President of Community Development and Corporate Philanthropy from First National Bank gave the keynote address for the conference on November 2 entitled, “Doing Great by Doing Good – Being a Part of a Socially Responsible Company.” Following the opening session, students discussed topics related to technology, public relations, leadership programs and resources, and networked with 19 business professionals representing local companies including; Gallup, Tabitha, Cognitive Clinical Trials, Conagra, INSPRO Insurance, Sandhills Publishing, Omaha’s Henry Doorly Zoo & Aquarium, First State Insurance Agency, Valmont Industries, and Independent Insurance Agents of Nebraska.
A business panel and tour of Gallup completed the conference.
