Midland University proudly recognized 23 students as 2024-25 Who’s Who Award Among Students recipients. The students were honored during a ceremony on November 18th at the Olson Student Center.
The Who’s Who Award honors senior candidates whose academic achievement, service to the community, leadership in co-curricular activities, and potential for continued success are decidedly above average.
Honorees were:
Brendan Westlake – Brendan is a PK-12 Music Education major with a teaching endorsement in Theatre from Osmond, Nebraska. He is involved with Theater, Choir, Band, Beta Sigma Psi Fraternity, Beta Sigma Psi National Organization, Alpha Psi Omega Honors Society, Springtide Research Institute, NAfME, and Campus Ministries.
Emmy Barker – Emmy is a Nursing major from Marshall, Minnesota. She is involved with the Student Nurses Association and the Midland women’s hockey team.
Hannah Meyer – Hannah is a Biology major from Fremont, Nebraska, and also has minors in nutrition and chemistry. She is a former member of the Midland track and field team and current member of the swim and dive team. Hannah has been part of the Residence Life Team for three years, currently serving as Student Hall Director for Augustine Hall.
Paeton Color – Paeton is from Norfolk, Nebraska, majoring in K-12 Generalist Special Education with endorsements in Special Education, English as a Second Language, and Coaching. She has been involved with the Midland softball team, FCA small group, and Phi Omega Sorority in her time at Midland.
Dalton Blaha – Dalton is majoring in Agribusiness with a compressed major in Digital Marketing and a certificate in Nonprofit Management. While at Midland, he has been a Resident Advisor at both Gunderson Hall and Beegle Hall and currently serves as Student Hall Director for Gunderson Hall. Dalton was a founding member of the Midland Agribusiness Club and is currently the secretary.
Colton Uhing – Colton is from Elkhorn, Nebraska, majoring in Accounting with a compressed major in Agribusiness. His activities on campus include men’s basketball, Ag Business club, and being a former member of the Student Athlete Advisory Committee.
Chiara Richeson – Chiara is a Nursing major from Gothenburg, Nebraska. On campus, she has served in several roles, including a learning lab consultant and tutor in the Academic Resource Center, a Bible study leader for Cru, a member of Leadership Midland, and as president of the Student Nurses Association during her junior year.
Grace Burns – Grace is from Fremont, Nebraska, and is studying both Arts Management and Communication Studies as well as earning a coaching certificate. She is involved in the Midland University Dance Program on the Game-day Team and Premier Company and is also a member of choir and Howard Hansen Honors Program.
Myana Sigers – Myana is from Miramar, Florida, and is a double major in Sociology and Criminal Justice with a certificate in Political Government and Citizenship. She is part of the women’s flag football team, the Howard Hanson Honors program, Bluenotes, and has acted in two productions in the MidlandU Arts Department. Myana is a member of the Criminal Justice Club, Pi Gamma Mu Honor Society, Sigma Tau Delta English Honor Society, and is President of Black Student Union.
Kari Van Nostrand – Kari is from Clarinda, Iowa and is majoring in Secondary Education with a focus in English and Theater. She has been an active member of the performing arts, speech and debate team, Tri Phi sorority, Luther Honors program, Alpha Psi Omega Theater Honor Society, and Sigma Tau Delta English Honor Society. She has also performed in various theater productions as well as directing One Act performances.
Kobie Jay – Kobie is a Criminal Justice major from Coconut Creek, Florida. She is a member of Pi Gamma Mu Honor society, a work study for the Institutional Advancement Office, and a member of the Women’s Flag Football team.
Mason Dahlke – Mason is from Columbus, Nebraska and is majoring in Biology with minors in Psychology and Chemistry. He has been involved in various play and musical productions, both acting and in the technical arts. He served as a Supplemental Instructor for General Chemistry and has been involved in Greek Life through Beta Sigma Psi Fraternity as well as various other student organizations including MASH, Alpha Psi Omega Honor Society, and Psi Chi Honor Society.
Amy Cawley – Amy is a senior from Webster, New York majoring in Digital Marketing with a compressed major in Communication Studies and a certificate in Nonprofit Management. She is a member of the Midland Shotgun Sports team and has also been a Resident Advisor for three years, currently serving as Student Hall Director for Benton Hall.
Sami McDonald – Sami is from North Bend, Nebraska, and is majoring in Agribusiness with minors in Biology and Nutrition. Sami has participated in the Howard Hanson Honors Program, Midland University Choir, and the gameday dance team. She has also served as a student representative on the Co-Curricular Drive Committee and has been on the Residence Life team as a resident advisor for two years. She was one of the founding members of the Agribusiness Club, currently serving as president.
Lauren Pimentel – Lauren is from Dighton, Massachusetts, majoring in Human Services with a minor in Criminal Justice. Lauren is an Admissions Ambassador and serves on the Ambassador Leadership Team. She is the Cru Co-President and Student Senate President. She is also a member of FCA, Residence Life, Psi Chi Honor Society, and the Howard Hanson Honors Program.
Steph Strobel – Steph is from Marquette, Nebraska, majoring in Sports Management with an endorsement in Coaching. She is a member of the Midland volleyball team, Student Athlete Advisory Committee, and Cru. She is also part of the admissions team as an Admission Ambassador and serves on the Ambassador Leadership Team.
Sarah Shepard – Sarah is from Fremont, Nebraska, and is studying Digital Marketing and Business Management. Sarah is on the women’s basketball team and is a leader for FCA.
Sydni Richards – Sydni is a Nursing major from Ely, Minnesota. She is part of the Midland women’s hockey team, the Howard Hanson Honors program, and Sigma Theta Tau Honor Society.
Joelle Zipp – Joelle is a nursing major from Buckeye, Arizona. She was a member of the Midland swim and dive team for three years. She is currently involved in Fellowship of Christian Athletes, Student Senate, and is an Admissions ambassador.
Cole Macaluso – Cole is from Fremont, Nebraska, double-majoring in psychology and sociology. Cole serves as the treasurer of Pi Gamma Mu Honor Society, the Membership Coordinator of Psi Chi Honor Society, and is an active member of CRU.
Henri Stoeckermann – Henri is from Kayh, Germany, double-majoring in Psychology and Management and added Applied Behavior Analysis after his sophomore year. His involvement includes Global Warriors, Kappa Phi Fraternity, and Psi Chi honor Society. He has also worked on campus as a writing lab consultant and in the Student Billing Office. He is also a member of the cross country and track and field squads.
Emma Strom – Emma is from Denver, Colorado, and is a double major in criminal justice and psychology. Emma is a member of the track and field team, serves as the secretary and social media chair for Phi Omega sorority, is the Vice President for Pi Gamma Mu Honor Society, and works as a Learning Lab Consultant in the Academic Resource Center.
Rylee Martin – Rylee is from Nesbitt, Manitoba, and is completing a Math degree with a compressed major in Digital Marketing and a minor in Graphic Design. She is part of the women’s hockey team and serves as co-captain.
