Midland University FBLA-Collegiate students earned several top finishes during the 2024 FBLA-Collegiate State Leadership Conference March 24-25 in Kearney, Nebraska. Midland was one of a dozen schools from across the state participating in the conference and competition.
Nine students also qualified for the FBLA-Collegiate National Leadership Conference by finishing in the top four in their respective categories. The conference will take place June 24-27 in Orlando, Florida.
“We are so proud of the performances by our students,” said Rita Bristol, Midland FBLA-Collegiate advisor. “This group has done an outstanding job of representing Midland University and we are excited for what they are capable of accomplishing at the national conference.”
Scott Tatum and Amy Dosch were both selected as Who’s Who Nebraska FBLA-Collegiate recipients. Dosch was also elected FBLA-Collegiate State VP of Technology and was a recipient of an FBLA-Collegiate Scholarship.
The trio of Brodie Arnold, Cameron Poolton, and Scott Tatum earned a first-place finish as they teamed up to take top honors in the Hospitality Management Case. Arnold also worked with Dylan Amick to finish third in the Marketing, Sales, Communication case.
Cody Kent, Forrest Reyes, and Ethan Smith placed second in Entrepreneurship Pitch, with Kent also teaming up with Radek Ruzicka and Smith to finish third in Emerging Business Issues.
Also finishing third were Max Duckweiler, Reyes, and Smith in Business Presentation and Ruzicka as an individual in Entrepreneurship Pitch.
Tatum finished fourth individually in Foundations of Selling while teaming with Amick and Poolton to place fourth in Finance Case. Amick and Reyes finished fourth in Emerging Business Issues and Poolton was fifth in Foundations of Selling.
