What will I learn?

To be a programmer is to be a lifelong learner. The rapid pace of technological change means you constantly have to be learning new concepts, languages, and techniques. We’ll teach you hard skills, like HTML, CSS and Javascript, but we’ll also help you understand how to apply and extend your knowledge to new domains. We want to prepare you for the unknown future challenges you’re sure to experience in your new career.

How long will it take?

Midland’s Code Academy welcomes three cohorts a year.

Our part-time, online path meets for 25 weeks, Monday-Thursday, from 5:30-9 p.m. where 1-to-1 live access with an experienced instructor is provided.

What should I expect?

Learning to code is like learning a new language, and the best way to learn is with repetition. You’ll join your classmates every day to dive deep into new concepts, overcome new challenges and work closely with experienced instructors to create your next project.

Requirements

Our focus is on making you a career-ready coder, meaning no previous coding or programming experience is required to join the Code Academy. We’ll start off with the foundations, and build the skills that prepare you for work as a junior developer once your program is complete.

Coding 101

To be accepted into the Code Academy, you will need to complete a Coding 101 workshop. This can be achieved in person at one of our upcoming events.

This workshop will take approximately 3-4 hours to complete and will establish some fundamental skills that allow all Code Academy students to begin at a similar level. To RSVP for Coding 101, please see the list of upcoming events.

Technical Requirements

A modern laptop running the latest version of Microsoft Windows or MacOS is required. All additional software will be available for download and installation during the program.

Code Academy Partners

Midland Code Academy is proud to partner with local businesses to provide our students with diverse academic and professional experiences throughout the program and beyond. As a Midland Code Academy student, you would have access to work with all our partners.
