Application Instructions
Step 1: Review Required Admissions Documents
Application
The first step in applying to Midland University is completing the online application. You will begin by creating an account and verifying it via email.
The online application will then ask for your contact information, personal statement, details about your employment and academic history, and two references. Once you’ve submitted this information, you’ll be prompted to upload the materials described below.
Please reach out to your enrollment specialist or email graduate.admissions@midlandu.edu with any questions.
Personal Statement
The personal statement helps us get to know you and understand why you are interested in furthering your education at Midland. It should address the topics below in no more than two pages.
- Describe your career goals, your progress to date in achieving those goals, and how earning an MBA or certificate from Midland University will advance your vision for your career.
- How might other Midland students benefit from your background, experiences, and values?
- How have you served communities, groups, or organizations, both past and present, and how will further education allow you to strengthen those service contributions?
Official Transcript
To be considered for regular admission to the graduate program, a student should have a cumulative grade point average (GPA) of 2.75 on a 4.0 scale from an accredited institution(s) in an undergraduate program.
Official transcripts from previous institutions can be submitted by mail to Midland University at 11213 Davenport Street, Suite 100, Omaha, NE 68154, or electronically at graduate.admissions@midlandu.edu. An official transcript is printed on security paper and includes the university seal and the registrar’s signature. Official transcripts are considered “official” only when they are issued directly to the receiving party through electronic and/or mail delivery or via the Clearinghouse or the institution’s sealed envelope.
Letters of Recommendation
Two letters of recommendation detailing professional performance (one letter must be from current employer). Note: Contact information should be provided for individuals who will complete the recommendation form. An electronic form will be sent directly to identified individuals.
Transfer Credit
Have previous graduate-level credit? Those seeking to transfer in completed graduate-level coursework may request a transfer credit evaluation to determine which courses may transfer into the MS-BIA. All credit must have been earned in the last seven (7) years with a B (3.0) grade or higher for transfer consideration per the Midland University general transfer policy. Students are required to complete, at minimum, 60% of graduate credit through courses at Midland University.
Step 2: Schedule an Admissions Interview
Choose a date and time to schedule your admissions interview with your enrollment specialist. Please note: We prefer documents to be submitted before your admissions interview, but they may be submitted after if necessary.

All new graduate MS-BIA students will participate in an onboarding experience before or within the first term of entering the program. This experience is designed to help incoming students get familiar with their classmates, adjust to the social and performance aspects of graduate studies to be prepared, productive, and successful in school contributions.
As part of this onboarding experience, Midland prepares new students for the interpersonal dynamics that students will experience during their time in the program. The onboarding includes the completion of the Emergenetics profile along with modules on teamwork, communication, emotional intelligence, and managing your program.
Onboarding is offered three times throughout the year, in August, January, and May. The onboarding experience is held at the Midland University Omaha location the weekend before classes start. Specific meeting times will be announced to all enrolled students in advance.
