There is Never a No
“There is never a no when it comes to doing something in life. It’s all about putting in time and effort towards something you want to accomplish.” In everything that Anthony Estrada sets out to do, he is reminded of this mentality his parents brought him up in.
Being from Fremont, Midland seemed like an obvious choice for Anthony. Not only was it close to home, but it offered him opportunities to pursue graphic design as a major. However, the biggest draw for Anthony was the opportunity to further his musical education without majoring in it.
A talented bass guitarist, Anthony has been a staple of the Midland jazz band. With an immensely musical family, Anthony is able to further his musical interest by playing bass for his family’s worship band, JIREH.
“I’ve done tours in Mexico and Guatemala with my worship team as a musician. I have also been on national TV in Guatemala.”
While Anthony has an interest in graphic design, his true passion is in music. After graduation, he intends to continue to pursue his music.
“My plan is to find a job in graphic design, though my dream job has nothing to do with my major. I would like to be a full-time bass player and tour around the world as a professional musician.”
For Anthony, being a Warrior means having the confidence to accept any challenge that comes your way. Anthony believes having this Warrior mentality has led him to where he is today, both as a musician and a student. He sees this process as key to succeeding as a student musician, even during the hard days.
