Welcome to the Education Research Guide. This guide is to assist students who are taking courses in the Walker School of Education, and can also assist students, faculty, and staff doing research in this area.
This Research Guide will provide information on the most relevant databases to search from, online periodicals we may subscribe to, and websites and open access options for this subject.

American Indians in Children’s Literature
American Indians in Children’s Literature (AICL) provides critical analysis of Indigenous peoples in children’s and young adult books.
American Indian Youth Literature Award
For writing and illustrations by and about Native Americans. Includes children’s and young adult categories.
American Library Association Awards
Lists the Caldecott, Newbery, Pura Belpre, Coretta Scott King Awards and many others.
Asian/Pacific American Award for Literature
Includes children’s and picture books about Asian/Pacific Americans and their culture.
For children and young adults, in fiction, non-fiction, and poetry.

Database of Award Winning Children’s Literature
The purpose of this database is to create a tailored reading list of quality children’s literature or to find out if a book has won one of the indexed awards. I expect the user to be a librarian or a teacher intervening for a child-reader, however anyone may make use of it to find the best in children’s literature including parents, book store personnel, and children and young adults themselves.

With over 4,000 titles (and growing!) available for viewing, the DCMP is continuing to provide equal accessibility to these students and the professionals who serve them. Your one-stop location for Nebraska education data, the NEP provides demographics and testing data for all K-12 schools in the state of Nebraska.
Nebraska Public Documents provides free public access to digitized historic annual reports of state agencies in Nebraska for the use of students, scholars, and the general public. Through this digitization project, we provide keyword searching options never before available. Eventually, the intent of the project is to provide access to state government agency reports from 1891 through 1956, with metadata enhancements as funds become available.
School Attendance Boundary Information System
The School Attendance Boundary Information System (SABINS) was a National Science Foundation-funded project to provide, free of charge, aggregate census data and GIS-compatible boundary files for school attendance areas, or school catchment areas, for selected areas in the United States for the 2009-10, 2010-11 and 2011-12 school years.
