Midland University crowns its 2017 Homecoming royalty

Midland University kicked off its Homecoming and Family Weekend festivities on Thursday by crowning its 2017 royalty during a coronation and pep rally at the campus amphitheater. 

The 2017 Homecoming queen is Michaela Millikan of Bennington, Nebraska, who is majoring in arts management with a theatre performance emphasis. The 2017 Homecoming king is Keaton Kreikemeier of Norfolk, Nebraska, who is an arts management major.

Junior princess and prince were Jensyn Meyer of Milford, Nebraska, who is studying biology, and Myles Shonsey of Omaha, who is a psychology and finance major.

Sophomore princess and prince were Taylor Peterson of Auburn, Nebraska, who is an elementary education major, and Brook Svoboda of Sutton, Nebraska, who is studying business management and marketing.

Freshmen princess and prince were Hannah Boone of Omaha, who is a nursing student, and Theo Blum of Wahoo, Nebraska, who is majoring in biology.

Other senior candidates were:

  • BaiLeigh Leach of Grand Island, Nebraska, who is majoring in arts management and business administration.
  • Jessica Nekl of Shelby, Nebraska, who is a biology/pre-occupational therapy major.
  • Logan Paasch of Valley, Nebraska, who is a human performance (sports management and marketing) major.
  • Joey Evans of Omaha, who is majoring in business marketing with a minor in biology. He also is seeking a coaching endorsement.

Other junior candidates were:

  • Katie Heard of Omaha, who is an education major.
  • Connor Herald of Omaha, who is a K-12 musical theatre education major.
  • Jessica Peters of Omaha, who is majoring in biology (pre-med) with minors in chemistry and psychology.
  • Lukus Vopnford of Blair, Nebraska, who is a biology (pre-med) major.

Other sophomore candidates were:

  • Hiliary Huss of Stanton, Nebraska, who is studying biology.
  • Jaden Fox of American Fork, Utah, a biology (pre-med) major.
  • Travis Grafe-Cline of Avoca, Nebraska, who is an arts management major.
  • Baylee Snyder of Council Bluffs, Iowa, who is an elementary education major.

Other freshmen candidates were:

  • Kalli Brester of Howells, Nebraska, who is a business major.
  • Joseph Pena of San Antonio, Texas, who is a mathematics major.
  • Autumn Penberthy of Valley, Nebraska, who is studying psychology and criminal justice.
  • Teion Sales of Cedar Falls, Iowa, who is a mathematics major.
